The Basic Osteopathic Principles are:

  • The body contains within itself a self-regulatory and self-healing system to combat disease processes
  • The person is a unit in which structure, function, mind and spirit are interrelated
  • Adequate function of the body's systems depends upon an unimpeded blood and nerve supply

Osteopathic treatments involve a gentle, effective hands on treatment following whole body Osteopathic diagnosis. All our Osteopaths are fully qualified and experienced in cranial Osteopathy and structural Osteopathic medicine.

All our Wellington osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (OCNZ) which is the governmental registration body for osteopaths set up under the Health Practitioners Competency Act in 2004.

All City Osteopaths are ACC treatment providers.

What do Osteopaths treat?

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a system of health care that looks at the relationship between the body's physical structure (bones, ligaments, muscles and organs) and its impact on its physiological processes.

It sees that the body's physical structure and how it functions are inextricably linked.

Osteopaths diagnose mechanical imbalances within or between physical structures and use their hands to correct them. The manipulative techniques that are used help to restore balance to the musculoskeletal system, including the blood and nervous systems that integrate the normal functions of the body.

This is how Osteopathy can decrease pain and improve a person's general health. Click here for more information

All our osteopaths are ACC Treatment Providers and registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand
